My printer will not connect to the internet. It keeps telling me to make sure the SSID is the same as my computer. Yet, I cannot find anywhere where I can change/correct the SSID.
I just moved across country and it still has my old Network Name. I cannot find where I can manually change it. It certainly is not changing automatically.

Hi @Bullied,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you need to update the network settings on your HP Deskjet 4100 Series printer to reflect your new network information. Here are general steps you can follow; however, keep in mind that the exact steps may vary slightly depending on your printer model.
Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Connect your computer or mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network your printer is currently connected to.
- Find the printer's IP address. You can usually do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
- Open a web browser on your computer or mobile device and enter the printer's IP address into the address bar.
Change SSID and Network Settings:
- Once you access the Embedded Web Server, look for a section related to network or wireless settings.
- You may need to enter a username and password to access these settings. The default credentials are often found in the printer's manual or on a sticker on the printer itself.
- Locate the SSID or network name field and update it with your new network name.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password or any other required network information.
Save Changes:
- After making the necessary changes, save the settings.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and then turn it back on to apply the changes.
After completing these steps, your printer should be connected to the new Wi-Fi network. If you encounter any difficulties or if the menu options are different, refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions. If you no longer have the manual, you can usually find it on the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Bullied,
Another option is to reset the network settings in the printer to put it back in setup mode. On your printer, make sure it is powered on, then hold the wireless and cancel buttons at the same time for 5+ seconds. Similar to what is shown in this video. https://youtu.be/vNA30JXxfcY?si=ze0vJuwuEYxM8Urm
Then you can use HP Smart app on PC, Mac, iOS or Android to set it up like a new printer. Just use the "Add Printer" feature in the app. It will help you configure new WiFi settings in the printer.
