Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

I have a Laser ink jet pro printer but I keep having problems with wireless printing. My device cannot find the printer. The printer is connected to the same network and shows ready on the panel.

I tried to reinstall it as if it is new, but during the search, it does not get discovered.

Can someone help pls

Hi @Elibama,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your HP LaserJet Pro printer shows as ready but won’t appear during wireless setup, especially when you’ve already confirmed it’s on the same network. Let’s walk through the most effective steps to fix this:

1. Restart Everything

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on in this order: router → printer → computer.

2. Confirm Network Connection

  • On the printer’s control panel, print a Network Configuration Page or check Wireless Settings.
  • Make sure:
    • The printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC.
    • The IP address is valid (e.g., 192.168.x.x).

3. Use HP Smart App for Setup

4. Disable VPN or Firewall Temporarily

  • VPNs and firewalls can block printer discovery.
  • Temporarily disable them during setup and re-enable afterwards.

5. Reset Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi using WPS or manual setup.

6. Add Printer via IP Address (Manual Method)

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
  2. Choose “The printer I want isn’t listed”.
  3. Select “Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname”.
  4. Enter the printer’s IP address from the Network Configuration Page.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
