Hi @printer144,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 3637 not connecting to WiFi because it needs to be reconnected to the new network created by your new modem. Also, since you canceled your Instant Ink plan, there might be an issue with the cartridges, as Instant Ink cartridges are subscription-based and will no longer work after cancellation. Here’s how you can resolve these issues:

Steps to Reconnect Printer to WiFi:

Restore Network Defaults:

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for about 5 seconds or until the Power light starts blinking. This will reset the wireless settings.

Reinstall the Printer on Your New Network:

  • Download and open the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone.
  • Add the printer by clicking on the + sign in the app.
  • Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your WiFi network.

Use WPS (WiFi Protected Setup):

  • If your modem supports WPS, press the WPS button on your modem.
  • On your printer, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds.
  • The printer will attempt to connect automatically to your WiFi.

Manual Connection via Printer Software:

  • If WPS doesn’t work, use the HP Smart app or the HP Printer Assistant software to manually enter your new WiFi credentials.

Steps to Ensure the Printer Works Without Instant Ink:

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Replace the Instant Ink cartridges with genuine HP cartridges compatible with the DeskJet 3637 (HP 63 series for the US).

Disable Instant Ink Notifications:

  • Open the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant on your computer.
  • Go to Settings > Ink Alerts and turn off Instant Ink notifications.

Reset the Printer (if necessary):

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 2 minutes, and then plug it back in.
  • Turn it on and check if the error clears.

Additional Tips:

  • Ensure your new modem's WiFi band is compatible. The HP DeskJet 3637 works only with 2.4GHz networks, not 5GHz.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Gaya1239,

I was able to connect to  wifi by resetting my printer and connecting from my desktop.
But now when I try to print using my hp smart app with original cartridges, it’s printing blank pages. Could you please help in fixing the same. Thank you
