My printer has been stuck on the screen and does not want to turn off. I have tried to unplug so that I can reset and nothing has changed.

Hi @Lady1011,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer is experiencing a power or firmware issue if it's not responding to power commands and stays stuck on the screen. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

Hard Reset: Since you've mentioned that unplugging hasn't worked, try this specific method:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer while the printer is still on.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds. During this time, press and hold the power button on the printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • After the 60 seconds, plug the power cable back into the printer.

Check Power Source: Sometimes, the issue might be with the power outlet or surge protector:

  • Try connecting the printer directly to a different wall outlet to rule out any power supply issues from the outlet or surge protector.

Please update the firmware: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-1

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
