I loved my hp9012e All-in-One, operating wireless, on WIN 10 or now maybe 11. Not sure after using online help and being constantly upgraded. I accidentally added a virtual privacy network to my security system and, not needing it, tried to reverse and remove. Printer was thrown offline. When I got reinstalled, with great difficulty, instead of printing for me, all images are scanned, filed somewhere (the cloud?) and the phrase "DO NOT DELETE" appears where printer used to, i.e., do not delete this setup. I got into some control center and everything was locked up on this scheme. I do not want it. Don't even suggest I adopt this method of operating. I will not. I cannot. It is not for me. I want to print when I want to print, even if I have to throw this machine away and buy another brand. I have owned HP printers since the 1980's. Is there hope?

First rule of using your own devices >> Do not do anything you do not wish to do.
True, too - we are not here to attempt to convince you otherwise.
In all that makes sense, naming any printer queue "do not delete" was not a stroke of programming genius (personal opinion).
"Do not Delete" is a printer queue -- yes, used for Scan - and likely installed as a result of running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. In particular, older versions of the doctor might add this queue though it is certainly possible the newer versions might do so as well.
You can use the queue to scan,
Ignore the queue,
or Right-Click and Remove the queue.
If you delete the "Do not Delete" queue and you want to use HP Scan to print,
Consider that you may want (or need) to reload the printer software.
Basics
- Completely Uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features,
- See Note >> Check and Remove any left over pieces of printer software,
- Restart the computer and log in,
- Install a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Note >>> This part is Optional -- Consider adding if you are having trouble reinstalling the software.
If Continuing issues, software won't install,or you see message "Driver Unavailable" during installation: After you Uninstall the printer software > Restart the computer and log in >>> Add the steps described in the "Check and Remove" section.

What else?
If the printer software won't install, if you don't want the Doctor to fix the setup (possibly adding the hated "do not delete" scan queue), you can change the connection type manually and possibly help the entire process in doing so.
Method - Create TCP IP port
TCP/IP can resolve odd connection, scanning, and installation problems.
Create / Switch to a TCP/IP Port to facilitate communication and prevent ‘offline’ issues
Find the printer's IPv4 address
Print a Configuration Page
OR
Tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address
Control Panel, from Devices and Printers
Right-Click the printer and Left-Click Printer Properties
Tab Ports
Click Add Port
Select Standard TCP/IP Port
Select New Port and follow the instructions
Type in the correct IP address for the printer
