@Frustratedsoul, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here’s a clear, step-by-step guide to get your HP ENVY 5530 printer working again on your Wi-Fi network:
Basic Checks
- Printer On & Ready: Make sure the printer is powered on and has no error messages.
- Wi-Fi Light: Check that the blue wireless light on the printer is solid (not blinking). If it’s blinking, the printer is not connected to Wi-Fi.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
Sometimes printers disconnect from the network due to router updates or IP changes.
On the printer screen:
- Tap the Wireless icon or navigate to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Follow prompts to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the correct Wi-Fi password.
Once connected, make sure the wireless light turns solid blue.
Restart All Devices
Power off and restart:
- Your printer
- Your iPhone
- Your laptop
- Your Wi-Fi router
Wait for everything to reconnect. This can reset any IP conflict or glitch.
Check Printer on Your Devices
🖥️ On your laptop (Windows/macOS):
- Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners
- Remove the HP ENVY 5530 if it’s listed.
- Click Add a printer again to rediscover it on the network.
📱 On iPhone (AirPrint):
- Open any app (like Safari or Notes), tap the share icon and choose Print.
- Tap Select Printer and see if HP ENVY 5530 appears.
Optional - Use HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart app from the App Store (iPhone) or Microsoft Store (Windows).
- Open the app and add the printer.
- If the app can’t find it, tap Set up a new printer and follow the on-screen steps to reconnect it to Wi-Fi.
Print a Wireless Network Test Report
You can do this directly from the printer:
- On the control panel, go to Settings > Wireless > Print Reports > Wireless Test Report.
- Review the printout — if it says “Not Connected,” the issue is Wi-Fi.
If after all this, the printer still can’t be found:
Assign Static IP
Sometimes printers drop off networks due to dynamic IP assignment. You can:
- Get the printer’s current IP from the Wireless Network Test Report.
- Access your router’s admin panel.
- Assign that IP to the printer's MAC address.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
