My laptop can no longer connect with my wireless printer. When looking for the list of printers it cannot find it - and yet, up till yesterday it was working well. I can find the printer using my phone or tablet, or indeed, a friend's laptop! I have gone through all the support strategies, any suggestions?

@Elaine301, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since your HP ENVY 5530 printer is still visible to other devices but not your HP ENVY x360 - 15-ds0002na, this sounds like a PC-side networking or driver issue rather than a printer problem. Here are some targeted suggestions you can try:
Restart Networking Stack
Corrupt networking configurations can block discovery.
- Run these commands in Command Prompt (Admin):
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns - Then restart your laptop and try connecting again.
Check Printer Discovery Settings
Sometimes Windows loses track of "network-discoverable" printers.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
- Click "Add a printer or scanner"
- Wait — then click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”
- Choose “Find a printer by other options” → Select "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname"
Enter your printer's IP address (find it via printer control panel or configuration page)
Choose "Autodetect" or select the correct driver.
Disable IPv6 Temporarily (if enabled)
Some HP printers have connectivity problems when IPv6 is active.
- Go to Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings
- Right-click your Wi-Fi > Properties
- Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6)
- Click OK and reboot.
Reinstall HP Printer Software
Sometimes corrupted drivers or HP Smart app causes issues.
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features
- Uninstall HP Smart, HP ENVY 5530 drivers, and any related HP software
- Restart the PC
- Reinstall fresh drivers from:
Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support
Check Firewall & Antivirus
Windows Firewall or 3rd-party antivirus may block printer discovery.
- Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall
- Try detecting the printer again
- If it works, create an exception rule for HPNetworkCommunicator.exe and HPDiscovery.exe.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
Even though you’ve tried some tools, this one can catch odd issues:
Download from: Official HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows | Free Download hppsdr.exe
Run it and follow its automated repair steps.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
