Thank you for your offer of help. I no longer need an all number ID number: I later looked more closely and found it. It does not however enable my PC to find the printer.
Windows 10 Pro, ver 21H2, installed 13/03/21.
Wireless connection
The day before I installed and HP 3830 that I had had unused as a reserve, found that it lacks automatic duplex so bout an 8024e. I installed the 3830 wireless using 123.hp.com which was easy ad took between 1/4 and 1/2 hour. When initially I could not find the 8024's ID I saw on hte printer's screen that i connection could be made from printer and tried, but my PC did not recognise the printer. I tried to clear that by reverting the printer to factory settings. That follows is part of the detailed notes that I then I started to take.
Apologies is this is more that you bargained for. It is is more that A two miute job, please say so ad I'll get a techie in when, tomorrow, hte New Year holiday will be over.
