Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

The printer previously did connect and worked well.  Other devices connect to the router, laptop, phone, etc.  The printer seems to recognize other routers in the area, but not mine/

Try these steps:

Restart Your Devices

  • Turn off your printer, unplug the power cable, wait for 10 seconds, reconnect the power cable, and then turn on the printer.
  • Turn off your router, wait for 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Allow the router to completely restart.

Reconnect Printer to Network

  • From the printer control panel, go to Network or Wireless Settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Verify Network Settings

  • Ensure your router's SSID is not hidden.
  • If the SSID is hidden, unhide it temporarily to allow the printer to connect.
  • Ensure the router is broadcasting at a frequency supported by the printer (usually 2.4GHz; check for dual-band routers).
  • Ensure MAC address filtering is not enabled or add the printer’s MAC address to the router’s allowed list.

Reset Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer control panel, go to Network or Wireless Settings.
  • Choose the option to Restore Network Defaults to clear previous settings.
  • Re-run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • Follow the instructions to diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.

Update Printer Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

 

Verify Security Protocols

  1. Check Security Settings:
    • Ensure your router is using WPA2 or similar security protocol. Older security protocols like WEP may not be compatible.

Manual IP Address Configuration

  1. Set Static IP Address:
    • Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer’s IP address into a web browser.
    • Navigate to Network Settings, and manually configure an IP address within your router’s subnet.
