Hi @Sdenison ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your phone and printer are both showing they are working but still won't connect, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure both your phone and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices can be connected to different networks, causing connectivity issues.
- Restart Devices: Turn off both your phone and printer, then turn them back on. Sometimes a simple restart can fix connectivity issues.
- Update Firmware/Software: Make sure both your phone and printer have the latest firmware or software updates installed. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Forget Network: On your phone, forget the Wi-Fi network you're connected to, then reconnect to it. This can sometimes resolve connection problems.
- Reset Printer Network Settings: If the printer has a built-in network connection, you can try resetting its network settings to default and then reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi network.
- Printer App: If your printer has a dedicated mobile app, try using it to connect your phone to the printer. These apps often provide additional troubleshooting options and can make the connection process easier.
- Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the printer's wireless settings are configured correctly. You may need to consult the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes firewall or antivirus settings on your phone or printer can block connections. Check these settings and adjust them if necessary.
