Hello my printer has been printing from my chromebook and now all of a sudden wont. I have restarted my printer and then reconnected it to both my phone and Chromebook. I have made sure they are all connected to the same wifi too. It will print from my phone but is mildly delayed now. I just installed the HP app on my Chromebook to see if that makes a difference and it doesn't seem so. The information button wont turn off now either, its solid orange. I have the Direct 10 HP DeskJet 2700 series

Hi @TiffanyAnn1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 2700 series printer suddenly won’t print from your Chromebook despite being previously connected, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Printer Status:
- The solid orange information light typically signals an issue with connectivity or a pending error. Try pressing the information button on the printer to see if it prints a status page, which might show any error codes or connection issues.
Reconfirm Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure the printer is still connected to your Wi-Fi network (not HP Wi-Fi Direct). Go to your Chromebook’s settings, find "Printers," and check if the DeskJet 2700 is listed and connected.
- Sometimes, re-selecting the Wi-Fi network on the printer by following the Wi-Fi setup steps can help reestablish the connection.
Use the HP Print for Chrome Extension:
- On your Chromebook, ensure you have the HP Print for Chrome extension installed. Go to the Chrome Web Store to add it if you haven’t already. This can sometimes improve print compatibility with Chromebooks.
Re-add the Printer:
- On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers and try removing and re-adding the DeskJet 2700.
Clear Print Jobs and Restart Devices:
- On your Chromebook and printer, cancel any pending print jobs. Then, power off both the Chromebook and the printer for a minute. Turn the printer on first, wait until it’s fully ready, and then power on your Chromebook.
Check HP Smart App:
- Since you installed the HP Smart app, try printing a test page directly from the app on your Chromebook to see if it detects the printer and can initiate printing successfully.
If the problem persists and the information light remains orange, it could indicate an error beyond basic connectivity. In this case, a factory reset of the printer may be helpful.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
