My printer HP Deskjet 2700e goes 'unavailable' 3-5 minutes after printing. I have to unplug it and print an alignment page to get it started. How do I make it always ready to print? Wifi is not the issue

Hi @MikeMike72 ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 2700e printer is consistently going "unavailable" shortly after printing, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Here are some suggestions:

Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address bugs and improve overall performance. You can check for firmware updates on the HP official website or use the HP Smart app.

Printer Software/Driver Update: Make sure you have the latest printer software and drivers installed on your computer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can sometimes cause communication issues with the printer.

Power Cycle the Printer: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 2-3 minutes. Then, plug it back in and power it on. This can help to clear any temporary glitches.

Network Connection: Even though you mentioned that Wi-Fi is not the issue, double-check the Wi-Fi connection. Make sure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network, and there are no connectivity issues. You can try reconnecting the printer to the Wi-Fi network.

Printer Queue: Check the print queue on your computer. Sometimes, pending print jobs or print queue issues can cause problems. Clear any pending print jobs and try printing again.

USB Connection (if applicable): If you are using a USB connection, try switching to a different USB port on your computer. Sometimes, issues with the USB port can affect the printer's performance.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Check your firewall or antivirus settings to ensure that they are not blocking communication with the printer. You may need to add an exception for the printer in your security software settings.

Printer Reset: Refer to your printer's manual to perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that this will restore the printer to its default settings, so you may need to reconfigure it afterward.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello, I did all of these. I am having the same problem.  I noticed my usb connection doesn't work in any port I've tried. I keep having the same problem and when I try to connect my printer to a new device I can't cause it can't find it. What can I do?
