Hi @Jen2525,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4310-4303 printer is unable to connect to WiFi and is asking for a Printer User ID and password, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow.

  • Check WiFi Connection: First, ensure that your printer is within range of your WiFi network and that the network is functioning correctly. You can try connecting other devices (e.g., smartphones, laptops) to the same WiFi network to verify its connectivity.
  • Restart Printer and Router: Power off your printer and also restart your WiFi router. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Verify Credentials: Double-check the Printer User ID and password you are entering. These credentials are often different from your regular WiFi network credentials. If you haven't set up any specific user ID or password for the printer, try using the default ones (if available). Check the printer's manual or documentation for default credentials.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: If you are still unable to connect, you can try resetting the printer's network settings to factory defaults. Keep in mind that this will erase any previously saved network settings, and you'll need to set up the WiFi connection again.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. Sometimes, firmware updates include bug fixes and improvements that can help with connectivity issues. You can check for updates on the HP website.
  • WPS (WiFi Protected Setup): Some printers support WPS, which allows you to connect the printer to the WiFi network without entering a password. Check your printer's manual to see if it supports WPS and how to enable it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
