I'm getting a green cloud icon from my HP wireless printer - meaning I can't scan anything. It will allow me to print, but not scan. My (HP) laptop and the printer are on the same wireless network. Any help/advice?

Welcome to the HP English Community --
Depending on your printer model, whether you have other (mobile) devices connected to the printer, the application you are using, and whether you have HP+ service enabled, the following explains the "Green Cloud" status icon.
HP printers - 'Scanning is Currently Unavailable' displays in the HP Smart app (Windows, macOS)
Section - Fix scan issues for network-connected printers (HP Smart app)
Step 3 - Check the printer status in the HP Smart app
Sample - HP Smart - Connection Status

If you have not done so,
Check / Update >>
Every device (computer(s) and mobile) where HP Smart is installed should be running the latest version of the HP Smart application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).
What else?
Open application HP Smart (Windows)
Select Help and Support
Scroll down –
Open and read section(s) – For example,
