Hi @DAWNY50
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2755e printer is experiencing a serious error, with all the lights flashing and an inability to connect to the Internet after you installed new ink. This issue could be related to several things, such as incorrect cartridge installation, a communication issue with the printer's firmware, or a network connection issue that occurred after the ink replacement.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot this problem:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
Start with the simplest solution, which is turning off the printer and performing a hard reset.
Steps:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.
This can help clear out any temporary errors or glitches.
2. Check the Ink Cartridge Installation
If the ink cartridges were not installed correctly, this could cause all lights to flash. Double-check the following:
Steps:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove the new ink cartridges and check for any issues:
- Make sure that the cartridges are seated properly in their slots and that they click into place.
- Ensure there’s no protective plastic or packaging still covering the ink cartridges.
- Inspect the cartridge contacts (the gold-colored area) for any dirt or smudges. Clean them gently with a dry lint-free cloth if necessary.
- Reinstall the cartridges properly and close the cartridge access door.
3. Reset the Printer Network Settings
If your printer was working fine on your network before but has trouble connecting after the ink change, it could be a Wi-Fi configuration issue.
Steps:
- Hold the Wi-Fi button (usually the one with the wireless icon) and the Cancel button (red "X" button) on the printer's control panel simultaneously for 5-10 seconds until the light starts blinking.
- This will reset your network settings and return the printer to its default Wi-Fi configuration.
- After this, you will need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network:
- Open the HP Smart app or use the printer's control panel to reconfigure the printer's network settings.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi.
4. Perform a Printer Reset
If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, you may need to perform a factory reset to restore the printer to its default settings.
Steps:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the "Cancel" button (red "X") and the Wi-Fi button simultaneously.
- While holding the buttons, turn on the printer and keep holding the buttons until you see a reset or the printer lights blink in a specific pattern.
- This should reset the printer's settings, including the network and error states.
Note: A factory reset will erase all settings, including any saved Wi-Fi connections, so you'll need to set it up again after the reset.
5. Check for Printer Firmware Updates
- Download and install the latest printer drivers and firmware from the HP support website.
- You can also check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the printer’s web interface if it’s connected to your network.
- After updating, restart the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
