Hi @TyraRex,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2710e All-In-One Printer is having connectivity issues. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this problem.

Check Printer Status and Connection

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and has paper and ink.
  2. Verify the connection: If you're using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer. If using a USB cable, ensure it’s securely connected.

Restart Devices

  1. Restart the printer: Turn it off, wait for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  2. Restart your computer: This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.
  3. Restart your router: Unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the issue.

Check Printer Queue

  1. Open the Printers & Scanners settings on your computer.
  2. Select your HP DeskJet 2710e printer.
  3. Click Open queue and ensure there are no stuck print jobs. If there are, clear them and try printing again.

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  1. Uninstall the printer drivers:
    • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove device.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click the minus (-) button.
  2. Download and install the latest drivers: Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  3. Follow the installation instructions.

Update Firmware

  1. Go to the HP Support website.
  2. Search for firmware updates for your HP DeskJet 2710e printer.
  3. Download and install any available updates.

Set the Printer as Default

  1. Go to Printers & Scanners settings.
  2. Select your HP DeskJet 2710e printer.
  3. Click Manage (on Windows) or ensure it's set as the default printer (on Mac).

Check Network Configuration

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's control panel. This will show you the printer's IP address and other network details.
  2. Ensure the printer's IP address matches the one your computer is trying to connect to.

Firewall and Security Software

  1. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer to see if it's blocking the connection.
  2. If it resolves the issue, add an exception for the printer in your firewall or security software settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
