- This resets the printer’s network settings.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and Resume button together for 3 seconds.
- The Wi-Fi Direct icon should appear, indicating the printer is ready to connect.
Connect Your Computer or Phone to the Printer
- On your device, go to Wi-Fi settings and select the printer’s DIRECT-XX-HP DeskJet 2721e network.
- If prompted for a password, enter 12345678 (default HP Wi-Fi Direct password).
Access Printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Open a browser and type 192.168.223.1 in the address bar.
- Navigate to Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.

I appreciate all your efforts and patience.
It sounds like your printer’s Wi-Fi Direct password isn’t working, which can be frustrating. Some HP printers have a default password, but if 12345678 isn’t working, here are some steps to retrieve or reset it:
Steps to Find or Reset the Wi-Fi Direct Password
Print a Network Configuration Page
- Press and hold the Wireless button and Information button together for 5 seconds.
- A page will print showing the Wi-Fi Direct password.
Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
- Press and hold the Wireless button and Cancel button together for 10 seconds.
- This resets the printer’s network settings, allowing you to reconnect.
If the issue persists, let me know what steps you’ve tried, and I’ll help further! Hope this helps.

Hawks_Eye
