My HP OfficeJet 8020 series printer shows as being online and ready in the HP Smart App on my desktop running Windows 10, 64 bit. For some reason I am unable to print via wireless. Windows does not see and cannot find the printer. This has been happening now for a couple of weeks. Not sure what caused the problem. Perhaps a Windows update? Running the troubleshooter could not identify the problem.

Hi @kraigr1 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a frustrating issue, especially when your printer shows as ready in the HP Smart app but isn't recognized by Windows. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Restart Devices: Make sure to restart both your printer and computer. Also, restart your router to rule out any network issues.
Check Printer Connection: Ensure your printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. Sometimes, printers can connect to a guest network or a different band (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz).
Update Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your OfficeJet 8022.
- Install the drivers and see if this resolves the issue.
Re-add Printer in Windows:
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click on Add a printer or scanner and see if Windows can find your printer now.
Remove and Reinstall the Printer:
- In Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer and click Remove device.
- Then, click Add a printer or scanner to reinstall it.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Sometimes, a recent update can cause issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and make sure your system is fully up to date.
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can automatically diagnose and fix many printer-related issues.
Check Firewall and Security Software:
- Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software isn’t blocking the printer connection. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.
Reset Printer Network Settings:
- On your printer, navigate to the network settings and select Restore Network Settings. Then reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
