Hi there. Before anyone asks me to restart my router, please know that I am 24 so you can assume I've done that a few times.
I've had my HP Envy (unfortunate name for all the problems this printer has given me) for a couple years now. Recently, my printer stopped detecting my router. As in when I go through the Wireless Setup Wizard, neither my 2.4Ghz nor my 5Ghz show up as an option. All of my other devices are connected just fine.
Here are all of the things I've tried (multiple times now):
- Power cycling the printer with the plug out of the outlet
- Turning my router and modem on and off (multiple times)
- Resetting the wireless settings on the printer
- Resetting the printer to factory settings
- Connecting to the router via WPS button (the connected timed out)
- Connecting to the router via WPS pin (the connection failed immediately, weird)
- The HP Print and Scan Doctor (kind of useless since my printer... can't connect to wifi??)
Also something interesting to add - I created a hotspot on my phone as a temporary solution and it worked with my printer once. After that, I would turn on my hotspot and it never showed up as an option again.
It truly feels like my printer is forgetting my previous connections on purpose. My printer is out of warranty, so if my only option is to pay to fix it, I'm 100% donating it and getting a different brand. This is not targeted at any customer support reps because you are just doing your job, but HP printers have felt like scams ever since I was a kid and it's so frustrating.
ANYWAYS thanks for any and all help
