Hi @RonL7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is having trouble connecting to a Wi-Fi network, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Enable Wireless on the Printer:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Settings.
  • Open the Networking > Wireless menus.
  • Ensure Wireless Station is selected.
  • Under Status, select Enable, and confirm with OK.

Select the Right Network:

  • Return to Settings and access the SSID LIST menu.
  • Choose your wireless network from the list and press OK.
  • Enter the network password and confirm with OK.

Check Authentication Settings:

  • Go back to Settings and open the Authentication menu.
  • If prompted for a password, select WPA-PSK and confirm with OK.

Verify IP Address:

  • In Settings, find the information icon (i) and select Wireless.
  • Ensure the wireless IP address is displayed. If it shows 0.0.0.0, wait a few minutes for it to update, then check again.

Additional Options:

  • WPS Setup: If both your printer and router support WPS, use this quick method to connect. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes of initiating the process from the printer’s control panel.

  • Embedded Web Server: For advanced configurations like WPA/WPA2 Enterprise, connect initially via Ethernet and configure through the printer's Embedded Web Server.

  • Wi-Fi Direct: Use Wi-Fi Direct to print without requiring a connection to the same network.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date to avoid compatibility issues.

Distance and Interference:

  • Make sure the printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router and there are no physical obstructions or sources of interference.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
