Hi @Jaskochara,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 won’t allow a network connection and seems stuck with the wireless option disabled. Let’s walk through the most effective steps to restore wireless functionality and reset the printer properly.

If your printer doesn’t show the network option and says “disabled,” it may have exited Wi-Fi setup mode or retained a corrupted configuration. Here’s how to fix it:

1. Restore Factory Defaults

This will reset all settings, including network configuration:

  • From the home screen, swipe down to open the Dashboard
  • Tap the Setup icon (gear symbol)
  • Swipe up and tap Printer Maintenance
  • Tap Restore > Restore Factory Defaults
  • Tap Continue to confirm

Your printer will restart and return to setup mode.

2. Re-enable Wireless Setup Mode

After the reset:

  • Go to Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password
  • Wait for the blue wireless light to turn solid (indicating connection)

If the wireless option is still missing, try restoring network settings only:

  • Go to Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings

3. Use HP Smart or USB Setup

If wireless setup fails, you can temporarily connect via USB and use the HP Smart app to reconfigure wireless:

Once connected via USB:

  • Open HP Smart
  • Add your printer
  • Go to Advanced Settings > Wireless Setup
  • Follow prompts to reconnect to Wi-Fi

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
