Hi @Polding,

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One printer stalls in the middle of printing, it could be caused by various factors such as connection issues, printer settings, or software problems.
Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting the issue:
1. Check the Printer Status
- Ensure that the printer is online: Make sure it’s not in an “offline” state.
- Check the printer's display panel for any error messages like low ink or paper jams.
2. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. Try printing again to see if the issue persists.
3. Update the Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Outdated firmware may cause printer performance issues.
- Go to the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your Smart Tank 515.
- Download and install the latest version.
4. Check the Print Queue
- Open the Devices and Printers section on your Windows 10 computer.
- Right-click on the HP Smart Tank 515 and select See what's printing.
- If there are too many documents in the print queue, it can slow things down. Clear any stuck or paused print jobs.
- Restart the print queue by right-clicking the printer and selecting Cancel all documents. Then, try printing again.
5. Check Network Connection
- Wireless signal strength: If you're printing wirelessly, ensure the printer has a strong connection to your WiFi network.
- Re-connect the printer to the WiFi if the signal is weak, or try moving the printer closer to the router.
- If printing over WiFi is problematic, try using a USB cable to connect the printer directly to your computer as a test.
6. Check the Print Settings
- If the print quality or size settings are too high, it might slow down printing.
- Lower the print quality by going to Printer Properties > Printing Preferences and selecting a lower quality like Draft or Normal mode.
7. Reinstall or Update Printer Driver
- Outdated or corrupted drivers may cause printing issues.
- Uninstall the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers, and then download the latest drivers from HP's website. Reinstall the printer afterward.
8. Check for Paper or Ink Issues
- Ensure the printer has sufficient paper loaded correctly in the tray.
- Check ink levels to confirm that you are not running low on ink, as low ink may cause the printer to pause mid-print.
9. Disable Sleep Mode
- Sometimes, the printer may enter sleep mode during a long print job.
- Go to the printer’s settings menu and disable or extend the sleep timeout setting.
10. Test with a Different Application
- Try printing from a different program (e.g., Word, PDF viewer, etc.) to determine if the issue is specific to a certain application.
11. Check for Software Conflicts
- Make sure your firewall or antivirus isn't interfering with the printer's communication.
- Temporarily disable them and try printing to see if it makes a difference.
