@Stevew18, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're looking to turn off the Wi-Fi on your printer, but the screen says it's "locked on." Let's walk through a few steps to help you disable the wireless connection.
Option 1: Use the Printer Control Panel
- On the printer's home screen, tap the Wireless icon (📶).
- Tap Settings or the gear icon.
- Select Wireless Settings.
- Choose Turn Wireless Off or Disable Wireless.
⚠️ If the option is greyed out or says "locked," it may be due to Wireless Direct or Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) being enabled. Let’s try disabling those next.
Option 2: Disable Wireless Direct
- Go to Settings > Wireless Direct.
- Select Off.
Option 3: Restore Network Defaults
If the wireless settings are locked or unresponsive:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Settings.
- Choose Restore Network Defaults.
- Confirm the reset.
This will remove all saved Wi-Fi settings and disconnect the printer from the network.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
