Hi @SAD59,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having a tough time setting up your new HP printer. Here’s a checklist to help troubleshoot the issue.
- Confirm Printer Setup: Ensure the printer is properly set up and connected to your WiFi network. Check that the printer's display shows it’s connected to the correct network.
- Update Printer Software: Make sure you have the latest drivers and software for your printer. You can download these from the HP Support website.
- Printer Status: Verify the printer’s status on the control panel. Ensure it's not in an error state, such as out of paper or ink.
- Check Connectivity: Make sure your PC is connected to the same WiFi network as the printer.
- Restart Devices: Restart your printer, router, and PC to refresh the network connections.
- Default Printer: Set your new printer as the default printer on your PC. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners and select the new printer, then click on "Manage" and "Set as default."
- Test Print: Try printing a test page from your PC. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, select Printer properties, and click on Print Test Page.
- Reinstall HP Smart App: If the app still fails, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app on your PC.
- Network Printer Setup: Ensure your printer is correctly added to your PC. You might need to manually add it via Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
