Hi @EllenD110,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when your HP Photosmart D110 was working just fine before. Losing access to the Embedded Web Server (EWS) due to a forgotten auto-generated password can feel like hitting a wall, especially when you're just trying to print something important.

Let’s gently walk through how to reset things and get you back on track.

Step-by-Step: Reset EWS Password on HP Photosmart D110

To regain access to the EWS and remove the unknown password, you’ll need to restore your printer to factory defaults. This will clear the saved credentials and let you start fresh.

1. Restore Network Defaults

This resets the printer’s network settings, including the EWS password.

  • Touch the Wireless icon on the printer’s front panel.
  • Tap the Right Arrow to navigate to Wireless Settings, then tap OK.
  • Tap the Right Arrow again to find Restore Network Defaults, then tap OK.
  • Confirm by selecting Yes.

You’ll see the wireless light blink. This means the printer is ready to reconnect.

2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi

  • Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer’s control panel.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and carefully enter the password.

💡 Tip: Make sure your router is using WPA or WPA2 security and broadcasting on 2.4 GHz, as the D110 doesn’t support 5 GHz.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
