Seemed like a simple task, to rename the Wireless network when we upgraded. I can find where to make the change but you need a printer password and it won't accept "12345678" which is what is printed on my HP Network configuration page. What do I do next?

Hi @SueZZ,
I'd like to help!
Please try the steps below to connect your printer to the network.-
● Press the Wireless button ((i)) and the Cancel button (X) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.
Note: Network password will be provided by the service provider or it should be printed at the back of the router.
--->On the printer control panel, press the Wi-Fi Direct button.
---> When Wi-Fi Direct is turned on, the Wi-Fi Direct light is on steady.
--->To find the Wi-Fi Direct name and password, press the Information button (i) for 3 secs to print a printer information page.
--->On your computer or phone go to wifi and connect it to your printer
--->Select your printer with DIRECT in the name from the list of available networks (example: DIRECT-74-HP 3700)
Or 3600
--->Select the Wi-Fi Direct printer signal in Wi-Fi settings
--->If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password.
--->Now open a browser and type 192.168.223.1
--->you will be able to access the printer's EWS page
--->on the page, you will find network - click on it
--->go to wireless and select wireless setup wizard
--->now select the network that you want your printer to connect to and type in the password
--->the wireless blue light will stop blinking once the printer is connected
--->then connect your phone back to your network

Hello,
This step will not work: >Now open a browser and type 192.168.223.1 I keep getting an error message:
This site can’t be reached
192.168.223.1 took too long to respond.
Try:
- Checking the connection
- Checking the proxy and the firewall
- Running Windows Network Diagnostics

I have identified what I think is the problem. When our network was renamed by an upgrade to our system, the tech changed the name, adding a " 2" to the same name. Unfortunately, you cannot see the " 2" in the Wifi, so when I tried to connect to the new system, it's still the old name without " 2". How do I make this simple change?

Try the below suggestions-
● Press the Wireless button ((i)) and the Cancel button (X) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds to restore the network on the printer.
Connect the printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (printers without a touchscreen)
Use the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router to connect the printer to your wireless network.
-
Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.
-
Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.
-
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button
for at least 5 seconds or until the light starts blinking. For Tango printers, press and hold the Wireless and Power buttons on the rear of the printer until the blue bar flashes.
-
Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button
on the router until the connection process begins.
-
Wait for the light on the printer to stop blinking.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
