Product: Officejet 5740
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP Community Team,

I have just uninstalled and reinstalled all software and drivers for my Officejet 5740 and everything seems to be set up right - like the printer acknowledges the internet - my computer acknowledges the printer, and it is displayed when you hit the internet icon on the taskbar and bring that up to see what is connected.

However when I hit connect from there it asks for an 8 digit PIN found from the router.

This is the problem - there is no 8 digit number on the router/modem and I have tried both the security key and also password to internet but no go. 

Where do I find this 8 digit PIN code that the computer request from me in order to start printing

To be able to assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  • Are you referring to the WPS pin?
  • Could you share the screenshot of the pop up that has the error message?
