Hi @Joannexxx,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Sure, I can help you with that. The steps to change the Wi-Fi settings on your HP printer can vary slightly depending on the model. Here’s a general guide you can follow.

Using the Printer's Control Panel

  1. Turn on your printer: Make sure your printer is powered on.
  2. Go to the Network or Wireless settings menu: On your printer’s control panel, look for a wireless icon or a setup/settings icon. This might be labeled as "Wireless Settings," "Network Setup," or something similar.
  3. Select Wireless Setup Wizard: This option will guide you through the process of connecting your printer to a wireless network.
  4. Choose your new Wi-Fi network: The printer will scan for available networks. Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list.
  5. Enter the Wi-Fi password: Use the on-screen keyboard to enter your Wi-Fi password.
  6. Confirm the connection: Follow any additional prompts to complete the setup.

Using the HP Smart App (recommended for modern HP printers)

  1. Download the HP Smart app: If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer from the HP website, App Store, or Google Play.
  2. Open the app: Launch the HP Smart app and sign in or create an account if prompted.
  3. Add your printer: If your printer is already set up with HP Smart, you’ll see it on the main screen. If not, add a new printer by clicking the "+" button.
  4. Change network settings: Click on your printer in the app, go to "Printer Settings," then look for "Network Settings" or "Wireless Settings."
  5. Follow the prompts: The app will guide you through connecting your printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

  1. Locate the WPS button: Find the WPS button on your router.
  2. Press the WPS button on the printer: On your printer, press the Wireless button and then the WPS button. This is often done by pressing and holding the Wireless button until it starts blinking, then pressing the WPS button on your router within two minutes.

If the Above Methods Don't Work

  1. Reset the printer’s network settings: You may need to reset the network settings on your printer to factory defaults. This option is typically found in the Network or Wireless settings menu.
  2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi: After resetting, use the Wireless Setup Wizard or the HP Smart app to connect to your new Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
