Hello,
My printer cannot connect to wi-fi and the wi-fi icon on the display panel keeps blinking. When I print the Network Configuration Page it says that the networking capabilities are not available, further stating that the capabilities are disabled when device was setup. Is there a way to enable the networking capabilities. I have tried factory reset as explained on YouTube in this video

Hi @PrashantY1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Smart Tank 670 All-in-One printer has its networking capabilities disabled, which is why it's unable to connect to Wi-Fi. The fact that the Network Configuration Page mentions the networking capabilities were disabled during setup could indicate that the Wi-Fi module was turned off or restricted in some way.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:
1. Enable Wi-Fi from Printer Menu (if available)
- Check your printer's control panel to see if there's an option to re-enable Wi-Fi.
- Look for the Wireless or Network Settings option. If you see the option to enable wireless capabilities, activate it.
2. Re-enable Networking in Embedded Web Server (EWS) Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- You can access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by connecting the printer to your computer via USB or using a direct Wi-Fi connection:
- Print the Network Configuration Page again, and find the IP address of your printer (if available).
- Type the printer's IP address into your web browser to access the EWS.
- Go to the Network section and look for any disabled options related to Wi-Fi.
- Enable any disabled networking settings.
3. Network Restore
- Perform a network settings reset on your printer:
- On the printer’s control panel, find the Settings or Network Settings menu.
- Look for a Restore Network Defaults option and select it. This will reset all network settings back to factory defaults, potentially enabling the Wi-Fi functionality.
4. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Outdated firmware might cause networking issues. If you can connect your printer to a computer via USB, try updating the firmware:
- Download the latest firmware from HP’s support site.
- Install the firmware update by following the on-screen instructions.
5. Factory Reset with Wi-Fi Module
- You mentioned that you've already tried a factory reset from a YouTube tutorial. Make sure that the reset process specifically re-enables Wi-Fi during the setup:
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold down the Resume/Cancel button while pressing the Power button to initiate the reset process.
- Follow the instructions on the display carefully to ensure networking capabilities are enabled.
6. Reinstall Printer via HP Smart App
- If nothing works, try removing the printer from the HP Smart app and reinstalling it:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Remove the current printer from your devices.
- Re-add the printer and follow the setup instructions, ensuring Wi-Fi is enabled during the process.
