I installed a new Linksys MR7500 router. All of my devices work except my HP-7525. It will not connect to the 2.4gHz network . I have done a semi-full reset from the engineering menu. It still says invalid WPA passphrase.

Hi @MJH16,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be a mismatch or a configuration issue with the passphrase (password) you're entering on your HP Photosmart 7525 printer when trying to connect it to the new Linksys MR7500 router. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Verify Network Settings on the Printer
- Check SSID and Password: Ensure that you are entering the correct SSID (network name) and passphrase (password) for your 2.4GHz network on the printer. Sometimes, the printer might not automatically detect the new network settings after a router change.
Reset Network Settings on the Printer
- Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on your HP Photosmart 7525 printer to clear any old network configurations:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously.
- While holding the buttons, press the Power button to turn on the printer.
- Continue to hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the Power light blinks.
- Release the buttons. The printer should now be reset to factory settings.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- Setup Wizard: After the reset, run the wireless setup wizard on the printer:
- Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the wireless settings.
- Choose the option to set up a new wireless connection.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your 2.4GHz network and enter the correct passphrase.
Router Settings Check
- 2.4GHz Network Settings: Log in to your Linksys MR7500 router's web interface.
- Ensure that the 2.4GHz network is enabled and broadcasting.
- Verify the SSID (network name) and passphrase (password) configured for the 2.4GHz network.
Ensure Compatibility and Security Settings
- Wi-Fi Standards: Confirm that the HP Photosmart 7525 printer supports the Wi-Fi standards (e.g., WPA2) and security settings (e.g., AES) used by your new router.
- Security Key Type: Some routers may offer different security key types (ASCII, Hexadecimal). Ensure you are entering the correct type when configuring the printer.
Firmware Updates
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Photosmart 7525 printer and your Linksys MR7500 router. Install any updates to ensure compatibility and stability.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of the "invalid WPA passphrase" and successfully connect your HP Photosmart 7525 printer to your new Linksys MR7500 router's 2.4GHz network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
