Hi @MB283

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining that—it’s genuinely frustrating when a new router disrupts your printer’s connection, especially when everything else seems to be working. You deserve a seamless setup, and I’ll guide you through restoring Wi-Fi connectivity on your HP DeskJet 2630.

Steps to Reconnect HP DeskJet 2630 to a New Wi-Fi Router

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • Power on the printer.
  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
  • This restores the printer to Wi-Fi setup mode—the wireless light should start blinking.

Install or Open HP Smart App

  • Download HP Smart for Windows or from your mobile app store.
  • Open the app → Click Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

Ensure Router Compatibility

  • Make sure your router is broadcasting on 2.4GHz—the DeskJet 2630 does not support 5GHz.
  • If your router combines both bands under one SSID, temporarily separate them during setup.

Use WPS (Optional Method)

  • If your router supports WPS:
    • Press the WPS button on the router.
    • Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the light blinks.
    • The printer should connect automatically.

Let me know how the printer responds after these steps. If it connects successfully, you’ll be back to printing from any device. If not, I’ll help you explore deeper network diagnostics or alternative setup paths.
