HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

I have installed a new router and my printer stopped working.  Receiving No filtering fail message.  I have reviewed all of the recommendations on HP and Xfinity site.. no luck.  Any suggestions.  I have restored settings, added MAC address, removed MAC address... allowed filtering, deny filtering, change setting to all...  long story short... I cannot get printer to connect.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a filter failed error, I am glad to assist you.

Are you using Mac OS on the computer to which this printer is connected?

If yes, follow these steps to fix the issue:-

I'd recommend you uninstall the existing HP printer software on your computer. Refer to the document HP Printers - Uninstalling HP Printer Software (Mac) for help.

Ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

Remove and add the printer

  • Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.
  • Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign , and then delete the printer.
  •
  • Select printer and click the minus sign
  • Click the Plus sign , and then click Add Printer or Scanner.
  • Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint
  •
  • Select AirPrint from the Use menu
  •
  • Click Add to add the printer to the list.
  • Try to print.
