Hi @Kiran2404,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP LaserJet 2606dn printer to the Wi-Fi network and have it detected by the HP Smart app, follow these steps.
Ensure Printer is Ready for Wi-Fi Setup
- Check network availability: Make sure your Wi-Fi is active and that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that you want the printer to connect to.
- Printer in ready state: Ensure that your printer is powered on and the control panel doesn't display any error messages.
- Restore printer network settings:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons for about 10 seconds to restore default wireless settings.
- Your printer should now be in setup mode.
Use HP Smart App for Wi-Fi Setup
Install the HP Smart App:
- Make sure you have installed the latest version of the HP Smart app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Open the HP Smart App:
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that you want the printer to connect to.
- Open the HP Smart app and log in (if required).
Add a New Printer:
- In the HP Smart app, tap on the Add Printer or the + button.
- The app will start scanning for printers.
- If the HP 2606dn doesn't show up, select Set up a new printer.
Follow the Setup Instructions:
- The app will guide you to connect the printer to the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device.
- Make sure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
Connect Manually if Necessary
- If the printer is still not detected, try manually connecting it using the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Find the printer's IP address from the control panel.
- Enter this IP address in your browser to open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Under the Network tab, ensure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
Note:
- Printer firmware: Check if the printer needs a firmware update. Some printers require the latest firmware for compatibility with Wi-Fi networks.
- Reboot devices: Restart your printer, Wi-Fi router, and the mobile device to clear any temporary network issues.
Once the printer is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network, the HP Smart app should detect it, allowing you to print wirelessly from your mobile.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
