Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

macOS 12.0 Monterey

My printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 was working wirelessly with my MacBook Pro. Then laptop said it couldn't find the printer. As instructed (when I googled the problem), I removed the printer from my list (preferences Scanners and Printers.) I then clicked on +, and the box that opened had no printers listed. I tried putting in the name of my printer, nothing. No Bonjour appears. I cannot find Bonjour on Safari Book marks or on Chrome (which is what I usually use.) I tried to find Bonjour for Mac to load, but nothing came up (only for PC Windows). I have ordered a cable (which I hope works) to, at least, be able to print when I connect my Mac to the printer. (I don't know if this will work since I have always printed wirelessly.) At this time I have no printers listed on the list on my Mac since it can't find any printers.

Any suggestions? I am totally computer illiterate.

Thank you, Arna

@arnabb, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are not able to print from your Mac wirelessly. First, let us check the connectivity between the devices.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.

Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.

Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. Open a new Terminal window (it's located in Applications > Utilities, or you can just start typing it in Spotlight).
  3. Enter “ping” followed by the IP address of the printer.
  4. Press Return. Press ctrl C after 10 pings
  5. There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Mac.

Download it from the App Store.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working. However, I did buy a cable and am able to print and scan using the cable. Now I am unable to change the email address on my HP account (I followed the instructions online, but nothing works) nor change the email to send scans to.

@arnabeth

Do you want to use the cable or the wireless option?

As the USB connectivity is fine and you are able to print and scan, it means the printer is working fine.

Are you referring to the ePrint email address?

If yes, refer to - Change your HP printer ePrint email address

Let me know how it goes.
