Hello.

I changed networks and am trying to redo the wireless set up of my LaserJet CP1025nw color printer.

I have tried to do the factory reset (turn off computer, unplug and wait 20 sec, turn on while holding resume for 30 sec, etc).

I am using the Hp Smart app and have held down the Wireless button on the printer with no success in finding the "HP-Setup.." wifi to connect the printer to.

Please help!

Hi @amandasi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble setting up your HP LaserJet CP1025nw printer on a new wireless network, here are some steps you can try.

Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network and that the network is functioning properly.

Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Reset Printer Network Settings: Perform a network settings reset on your printer to clear any previous network configurations. Here's how you can do it:

  • a. Press and hold the "Wireless" button on the printer until the wireless light starts blinking.
  • b. Release the button to start the network reset process. The wireless light will stop blinking once the reset is complete.

Check for HP-Setup Wi-Fi Network: After resetting the network settings, your printer should broadcast an HP-Setup Wi-Fi network. Check your device's Wi-Fi settings to see if this network is available. It may take a few moments for the network to appear.

Connect to HP-Setup Network: Once you locate the HP-Setup Wi-Fi network, connect your computer or mobile device to it. This network will allow you to configure the printer's wireless settings.

Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your device. If you haven't already installed it, you can download it from your device's app store.

Add Printer: In the HP Smart app, select the option to add a new printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to search for and connect to your printer on the HP-Setup network.

Configure Wireless Settings: Once your printer is detected, follow the prompts in the HP Smart app to configure its wireless settings. You'll need to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect the printer.

Complete Setup: After entering the Wi-Fi network information, the printer should reconnect to your new network. Once the setup is complete, you should be able to print wirelessly.

If you're still unable to connect your printer to the new wireless network after following these steps, you may want to try restarting your Wi-Fi router and repeating the setup process. Additionally, double-check that your Wi-Fi network is using a compatible encryption method (such as WPA or WPA2) and that your printer firmware is up to date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
