Hi @rd213
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer was previously able to scan and send documents directly to Google Drive but is no longer working, there could be several reasons for this. It might be due to changes in the Google services settings, network issues, or a software update. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Google Account Permissions
Your printer may no longer have the proper permissions to access your Google Drive due to changes in Google’s security settings, especially if your Google account has been updated or has undergone security changes.
Steps to check permissions:
- Sign in to your Google Account from a web browser.
- Go to Google Account settings by clicking your profile picture or avatar in the top right corner, then select Manage your Google Account.
- In the left sidebar, click on Security.
- Under the Third-party apps with account access section, look for HP Inc. or any related HP service.
- If HP services (such as HP Smart or HP Cloud Print) is listed but no longer has permission, remove access and re-add it.
After removing access, re-link your printer to Google Drive using the HP printer’s Cloud Print or HP Smart App.
2. Reauthenticate Google Drive on the Printer
Sometimes, you may need to reauthenticate your Google account to restore access on the printer.
Steps to reauthenticate:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Scan or Cloud Scan option.
- Choose Google Drive as the destination.
- If prompted, sign in with your Google account credentials again.
- Allow permissions for the printer to access your Google Drive.
- Try scanning again to see if it connects properly to your Google Drive.
3. Ensure the Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi
Make sure that your printer is still connected to the internet, particularly to the Wi-Fi network, since Google Drive requires an internet connection.
- Check the network settings on your printer to ensure it is properly connected to your Wi-Fi.
- If necessary, reconnect the printer to the network using the Wireless Setup Wizard or directly from the printer’s control panel.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
