Hi there. Recently we changed WiFi supplier from BT to Vodafone (Cityfibre). My old HP3055a has worked several years on previous WiFi. However I spent whole day trying to connect to Vodafone WiFi with no results at all. Nothing worked despite being on community chats, on HP advisors, etc.

Please, advise. Otherwise perhaps would be to get a new printer? Thank you. Denis

Hi @Denis1965

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble connecting your HP 3055a to your new Vodafone Wi-Fi. Let’s try some troubleshooting steps to get it connected:

Step 1: Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  1. Power On the Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on.
  2. Access the Control Panel:
    • Navigate to the Setup menu (the gear icon).
  3. Restore Network Defaults:
    • Look for an option like Network Setup or Restore Network Settings and confirm the reset.

Step 2: Reconnect to Wi-Fi

  1. Start Wireless Setup:
    • Go back to the Setup menu.
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select Your Network:
    • Choose your Vodafone Wi-Fi network (SSID) from the list.
  3. Enter Password:
    • Enter your Wi-Fi password exactly as it is (case-sensitive).

Step 3: Check Compatibility

  • Ensure your printer is compatible with the new Wi-Fi settings (like WPA2 security). If possible, check the router settings and make sure it’s set to a compatible mode.

Step 4: Check Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is updated. If you can connect it via USB to a computer, check the HP website for any firmware updates.

Step 5: Use WPS (if available)

  1. WPS Button on Router:
    • If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on the router.
  2. Press WPS on Printer:
    • On the printer, go to the Network menu and select WPS. Follow the prompts to connect.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
