Hi All,
Is there a limit to the number of PCs that can connect wirelessly to the HP envy 7800 All-in-one printer? I'm asking because I already have one PC that had successfully installed to and can printer. However, a second PC can't find the printer. Both of the PCs and the printer are connected to the same home WIFI network. Just for another test, I can PING successfully the printer with its wireless IP address. But on the second PC, PINGING to the same wireless printer fails.
That's why I raised the question of "Is there a limit to the number of PCs" that this HP envy printer is allowing to connect. I'm an IT Specialist and I'm try to help out a customer to install this second PC to this same printer that the first PC is connected to.
Your input is very much appreciated.
Thank you!
Abner

Hi @Abbe4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP Envy 7800 All-in-One printer, like most modern wireless printers, does not have a strict limit on the number of PCs or devices that can connect to it wirelessly. These printers are designed to support multiple devices within a network, making it convenient for homes or offices with several users. The connectivity issue you're experiencing with the second PC is unlikely due to a limit on the number of devices the printer can connect to.
Have you tried running HP print and scan doc. Please click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/printscandoctor
First, Please uninstall the HP smart app.
Once done, Let's try a restore the printer to the original network settings.
To restore the printer to the original network settings
- Disconnect the power cord from the router.
- Turn off the printer.
- Turn off the mobile device/PC.
- Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.
- Turn on the printer.
- Turn on the mobile device/PC.
Run the setup wizard to get the printer connected to the new network.
- Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel display to set up wireless communication.
- From the printer control panel, touch (Wireless).
- Touch ( Settings ).
- Touch Wireless Settings.
- Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.
Once done, Please reinstall the HP smart app, open the app, and click on add printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
