HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

OfficeJet 5258 connected to WiFi but showing "not connected" in Print & Scan Doctor
I recently got a new router (mesh). I re-setup my wifi connection to my printer and got a good connection (solid blue light) to my wifi using the HP set-up wizard.
Now not printing.
I reset the connection and started the wizard set-up again.
Connected but undetectable in any trouble shooting wizard from HP. Still not printing.
Suggested by the Print & Scan Doctor:
I turned router off/on
I turned printer off/on
Tried to update the new IP add in "Tools" in HP Printer Assistant, unsuccessfully = "we cannot update your device. Please reboot your system and try again".
DONE.
Still will not update IP even though the TEST says it was "successfully detected".
HP Print & Scan Doctor shows the icon + serial # for my printer but when troubleshooting the issues, says that my "printer can not be detected. Connect and try again".
Everything has been tried.  Turned off/on.  Re-set-up. Used set-up wizard.  Still no detection.  Yet still connected.

HP wants $100 FOR A ONE TIME PHONE CONSULT!!!!!  😳😱😭

Can someone PLEASE help me with something that will actually work and solve my issue?
Thanks.

@nottech-y, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print as it says offline.

  • Restart the router, the printer, and the PC
  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:

Check for any pending Windows updates first.

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Remove the existing printer entry > click on Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
  5. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  6. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try printing. Open File > Print

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
