I have an HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer whose wireless connection was working fine with my old Comcast modem/router. I obtained and installed a new modem/router from Comcast two days ago. Every device in my house had no trouble connecting to the new wireless except for my printer. I've gone through the printer's wireless setup wizard numerous times. It complained about 2 problems that I addressed:
(1) It needs 2.4 GHz band enabled. I enabled this on my router, gave that band its own name, and tried connecting the printer to that new wireless name. The setup wizard failed in the same way.
(2) I printed the Wireless Network Test Results, which claimed the router was using MAC address filtering. I logged into the router's administration site and discovered that its MAC filtering mode was Allow-All. Just for insurance, I manually entered the printer's MAC address. The setup wizard failed in the same way.
I've restored the factory defaults on the printer and recycled power on the router and printer. I've tried the WPS push-button setup. Nothing works.
What's frustrating is that I didn't have this setup problem with the previous Comcast modem, so it feels as though I should be able to make this work.
Thanks for your help.
