Hi @Marquita-22_22,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 3636 printer shows as "Offline" and won't print from your phone, try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Check Printer Power and Connections
- Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. If it’s connected via USB, check the cable connection.
- If the printer has a screen, make sure there are no error messages.
Restart Devices
- Printer: Turn off your printer, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Phone: Restart your phone to refresh network settings.
- Router: Power cycle your router by turning it off, waiting 30 seconds, and turning it back on.
Check Printer Status in the HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your phone.
- If the printer is listed as offline, try removing it and adding it back:
- Go to Printers in the app and tap on your printer name.
- Select Remove Printer and then Add Printer again.
- Follow the prompts to connect your printer to your network.
Update Printer Firmware
- Check if your printer’s firmware is up to date. Open the HP Smart app and look for a firmware update option in the printer settings.
Check for Network Issues
- Ensure that your phone and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network. A different network could cause connectivity problems.
- Check the printer's network settings via the printer’s control panel or web-based setup page (accessed through your router's IP address).
Set the Printer as Default
- On your phone, ensure the HP DeskJet 3636 is set as the default printer. Go to Settings > Printers (or Print Settings) and ensure it’s selected.
Reset the Printer's Network Settings
- If nothing else works, you can reset your printer's network settings:
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer at the same time until the wireless light blinks.
- Reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network through the HP Smart app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
