Hi @chifia22 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Plus 4100 All-in-One printer is showing as offline and you're having trouble getting it back online, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
- If using a USB connection, make sure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
- If using a wireless connection, check if the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
Restart Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Restart Computer:
- Sometimes, a simple restart of your computer can help resolve communication issues with the printer.
Check Printer Status:
- On your computer, go to the "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" section.
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet Plus 4100 printer and check if it is set as the default printer.
- If it's not set as default, right-click on it and choose "Set as Default Printer."
Cancel All Print Jobs:
- In the printer queue, cancel all pending print jobs. Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause the printer to go offline.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause communication issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that may be causing it to go offline.
Run Printer Troubleshooter:
- Many operating systems, including Windows, have built-in printer troubleshooters. Run the troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues.
Reset Network Settings (if applicable):
- If using a wireless connection, try resetting the printer's network settings and reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi network.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. If so, follow the instructions to update the firmware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
