HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

When my HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-In-One printer is turned on, the LED adjacent to the RJ-45 port flashes orange continuously.

This problem is recent.  I never noticed it for the first 10 months I owned the printer.

I can still print, but I would like to understand if there is some problem or spurious failure.

I can see that the printer is online when I view my network.

Hi @rhimbo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The flashing orange LED near the RJ-45 port on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer could indicate a network connectivity issue or an error related to the Ethernet connection. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Check Ethernet Cable: Ensure that the Ethernet cable connecting your printer to the network is securely plugged in and not damaged. Try using a different cable if possible.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches or communication issues.
  • Restart Router/Modem: Restart your router or modem to refresh the network connection. Unplug it, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve known issues.
  • Reset Network Settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Network menu and look for an option to reset or restore network settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the reset.
  • Check IP Address: Make sure that the printer has a valid IP address assigned by your router. You can find the IP address on the printer's control panel or by printing a network configuration page.
  • Check for IP Conflicts: Ensure that there are no IP address conflicts on your network. Two devices having the same IP address can cause connectivity issues.
  • Firewall/Antivirus Software: Check if any firewall or antivirus software on your computer is blocking the printer's communication. Temporarily disable such software to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Factory Reset (if necessary): As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings, including network configurations.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Before I can do that, I have to get past the screen telling me that I need new ink cartridges.  How do I do that?
