I woke to none of the computers in my house being able to connect to my 1102w wireless printer. I have tried everything I know, including deleting the printer and reinstalling it. However, when I reinstall I get the following message: "The printer was able to connect to the wireless network using the wireless credentials provided. However, the computer is unable to communicate with the printer."
I have gone through the usual things of downloading the latest installation software, resetting the router, unplugging both it and the printer, restarting the computer, etc. Nothing.
Everything else i have connects to the network fine, so it's not a modem issue. The computer prints if plugged in via USB. It's just the wireless. I am at my wit's end. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Geno60,
I'd like to help with the printer connectivity issue.
Try the below suggestions -
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor specifically created to help with printer offline conditions.
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
- Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
- If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
- If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
Set a manual IP-
To set a manual IP and try the steps below -
1. Open the printer driver, and then click the Properties or Preferences button.
2. Click the Services tab, and then, in the Print Information Pages drop-down list, click the Config Page list item.
3. Click the Print button.
--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP
--->then go to network ---> general ---> network protocols ---> select IPV4 only-->apply
--->go to wireless ---> wireless 802.11---> select manual ip ---> apply
--->Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
--->then go to settings on the main ews page --> power management ---> select sleep mode to max 15min
Connect the printer to TCP/IP port
a. Click Start/Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP Printer. Select Printer Properties. Select the Ports tab at the top.
b. Select Add Port. Select Standard TCP/IP Port. Select New Port.
c. Follow the Add Port Wizard. Under Printer Name or IP Address, . Example: 192.168.1.15. The IP address will be copied under Port Name.
d. Select Next and Finish the Wizard.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried the first step, the scan doctor, with no success. Showed by printer as a USB connection (when the original setup failed). Got the message that said it wasn't connected (I didn't have USB cord in), said I wanted to connect with network-wireless, gave me the option to retry or press "not connected to network." I went through that process by attaching the USB cable again as instructed. It then told me: "Sorry. Your printer does not support network wireless setup. CLick continue for further troubleshooting.
I did that and it opened up a new screen telling me to choose the network, but the only one it showed was the name of the printer, not the network every other device in my house is connected to!
I was unsure how to do step 2.
As for configuring the port. I tried that using the wizard, but the printer name/Ip was blank and wasn't sure how to get it. I thought it was supposed to show up automatically.
VERY frustrated. Have been wrestling with this for days. Have tried completely deleting the printer and starting from scratch several times, but I wind up back in the same place!

Restore the network settings on the printer and then reconnect the printer -
1. Turn the product off.
2. Press and hold the wireless button and the cancel button, and then turn the product on.
3. Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison, and then release the buttons.
Refer to the document to reconnect the printer = Wi-Fi connection is lost after a router or network settings change
Hope this helps!

Nothing works.
Tried WPS. Blue light keeps flashing, WPS light on router eventually stops blinking. No change in status.
HP Smart keeps telling me the printer is offline. And instead of it telling me it's a LaserJet P1102w, it just has HP Laser Jet Mono PCLmS Class Driver.
Tried to download printer installation software for 123.hp.com again. It doesn't even recognize the name of my printer when I type it in!

Print and share the configuration page.
To print a configuration page, do the following:
1. Open the printer driver, and then click the Properties or Preferences button.
2. Click the Services tab, and then, in the Print Information Pages drop-down list, click the Config Page list item.
3. Click the Print button.
And is the wireless radio blinking?
Let me know!

Not really, the wireless status would be working or not working.
Meanwhile, try covering USB to wireless.
Change the connection type with the HP Printer Setup & Software utility or with the HP Smart app for Windows 10. Leave the USB cable connected until you are prompted to disconnect it.
-
HP Printer Setup & Software utility: Search Windows for 'HP', and then click the name of your printer in the results to open HP Printer Assistant. Click Utilities or Tools in the top menu bar, click Printer Setup & Software or Device Setup & Software, and then click Convert a USB connected printer to wireless to launch the utility.

-
HP Smart app: On the app home screen, look for a Make printing easier by connecting your printer wirelessly message at the top of the window. If it displays, click Learn More to start the guided conversion.
NOTE:
If the message does not display, use the method to convert the connection through the HP Printer Setup & Software utility.

Hope this helps!
