Hi @6GX01EVNBJ00547, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe printer is not detecting your computer, try these steps:

Check Connection Method

If using Wi-Fi:

  • Ensure both your computer and printer are connected to the same network.
  • Restart the printer and Wi-Fi router.
  • Check the printer's Wi-Fi light (it should be solid blue).
  • Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose network issues.

If using USB:

  • Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Use a shorter USB cable (preferably under 2 meters).
  • Check in Device Manager (Windows) under Printers or USB Controllers for errors.

Check Printer Status

  • Print a Network Configuration Page:
    1. Press and hold the Information button on the printer for a few seconds.
    2. Check the IP Address and connection status.
    3. If the printer is not connected, try reconnecting via HP Smart App or printer settings.

Reinstall the Printer

Windows:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer and select Remove Device.
  3. Download and install the latest HP drivers from HP's website.
  4. Restart your computer and re-add the printer.

Mac:

  1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Remove and re-add the printer.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, and restart it.
  • Try connecting again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
