I cannot find my printer "name" or password and it is locked. How do I get access or change my printer name and password? I have changed to a new WiFi router and at present have no printer. Help, help please.

Do not worry. Please do perform the reset as given to you in a private message. There is no Step 1. The numbering was off. It's bit tricky to perform but you should get it.

@Heysus

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd love to help.

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the communities page for the private message.

Let me know if this helps.

It's worse than I thought. I have no name or password available on the printer. I can't remember them and anything I have documented it rejects.

I called the guys in India to help. Unfortunately, or not, I put the icon of the printer in the trash. It isn't even there anymore. Today I put the icon of HP smart in the trash and re downloaded it. Why? I don't know as it cannot find the printer. Of course not. It's gone off in the ether net.

Now it seems that I must totally reset and restart the whole process of downloading the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 onto my computer and then go from there. I'm not sure this is possible. I have absolutely no access to "restore network settings" as they are locked. Remember, I don't have my name or password.

If I were rich, which I'm not, I'd throw this out and go and buy a new printer. How about if I sent this printer back, as it is still on warranty, and they can send me a new one to get going again???

Hi there,

I reached an amazing HP tech who guided me through a whole new instillation. This is the solution that I was looking for. We simply got rid of the existing printer and started anew. That was the answer and now I am a happy printer.

Thank you for your help.
