My Chromebook was set up for wireless printing and had been working fine until today. It stopped printing. When trying to reconnect I get the below with an automatic password, but when I click connect, it says "bad Password". Never needed a password before and don't ever remember making one. Not sure why all of a sudden it stopped connecting for printing. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @ND1103 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 printer is asking for a password, it's likely referring to the wireless network password, not a printer-specific password. Here's what you can try:

Check Network Password: Verify the password for your wireless network. If you're unsure, you can check the settings on your router or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for assistance.

Restart Printer and Chromebook: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Try turning off both your printer and Chromebook, then turn them back on after a minute or two.

Forget Network on Chromebook: On your Chromebook, forget the wireless network and then reconnect to it. Sometimes, this can clear up any cached connection issues. Here's how to do it:

  • Click on the network icon in the bottom right corner of your Chromebook screen.
  • Click on the name of your wireless network.
  • Click "Forget" or "Forget network".
  • Reconnect to the network and re-enter the password.

Printer Network Settings: Check if your printer's wireless settings have changed. You may need to access the printer's control panel or web interface to review and adjust the wireless settings.

Reset Printer Network Settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting the network settings on your printer. This will clear any stored network configurations, and you'll need to set up the wireless connection again from scratch.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates address connectivity issues and improve performance. Update the firmware on an HP printer

I hope this helps.
