I am unable to connect my photosmart 6520 to my new EE hub wirelessly. It worked fine on my old BT hub. I have tried everything suggested on the internet bar the MAC part as that is not available on EE. Any idea what I need to do to rectify this problem?

Hi @Jingers1 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP Photosmart 6520 to your new EE hub after it worked fine with your old BT hub. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Network Compatibility: Ensure that the EE hub is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (not just 5 GHz). The Photosmart 6520 only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and if your hub is set to 5 GHz only, the printer won't be able to connect.
Restart Devices: Power cycle your EE hub and your printer. This can help clear any connection issues:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the hub for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the hub back in and turn it on.
- Turn on the printer and try connecting again.
Check Printer’s Wireless Settings: Make sure your printer is in wireless setup mode:
- Press the Wireless button on the printer's control panel to open the wireless menu.
- Select Settings, then choose Wireless Setup Wizard to search for and connect to your new network.
Ensure Proper Network Settings: Double-check that your EE hub is not blocking the printer from connecting, such as through features like MAC address filtering or guest network settings. While you mentioned that MAC filtering is not available on EE, it's still worth confirming that other settings (like WPA2 encryption) are compatible.
Firmware Update: Ensure both the printer and the EE hub have the latest firmware updates. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause connectivity issues.
Reconfigure Network Settings on Printer: If none of the above work, you may want to reset the network settings on your printer and try the wireless setup again:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Then, follow the wireless setup process to reconnect.
Check DHCP Settings: Ensure that the EE hub has DHCP enabled, so it can automatically assign an IP address to your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
