HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Won't print from Microsoft Office apps (Powerpoint & Word).  No error message.  Same behavior on two different Microsoft Surface devices running different versions of Office.  Worked yesterday.  Not this morning.   Latest Windows Update was 8 days ago. Tried the usual (pulling plug on printer, waiting 60 seconds, powering back up while pc was off).   Also uninstalled the printer, downloaded latest driver and installed.  Have run  HP Print & Scan Doctor, which installed an HP update and printed test page.

Hi @sawtooth68,

 Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you're unable to print from your surface pro, I'd like to help!

Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from software and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I read your solution and tried it without success before I posted my original.  Tried it again just now with the same negative result.  Since my original post, am now able to print from MS WORD but still not from PowerPoint.  I question whether this is an HP or MS problem.

Could you try printing from other applications ?

Let me know!

HP Recommended

Yes, we've printed from non-MS Office applications.

Seems like an application issue, have you tried a Microsoft update and then print?

I recommend you reach the Microsoft team

Hope this helps
