Hi @smalls501,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you change your internet provider, your network settings, including your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, may change. This can cause your printer to become disconnected from the network. Here are the steps to reconnect your HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 to your new network and resolve the "locked out by administrator" issue.

Reconnecting the Printer to the New Network

Reset the Network Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Restore Network Settings. This will reset the printer's network settings to their default state.

Reconnect to the New Network:

  • On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Select Wireless Settings.
  • Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new network and enter the Wi-Fi password.

Resolving the Administrator Lockout

If you're still experiencing issues where it says you're locked out by an administrator, you might need to reset the printer to its factory default settings. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Perform a Semi-Full Reset:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
    • On the printer's control panel, access the Setup menu.
    • Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Service.
    • Look for an option that says Restore or Restore Defaults.
    • Confirm that you want to restore the printer to its factory settings.

Reconfigure the Printer

After performing a reset, you will need to reconfigure the printer as if it were new. This includes reconnecting it to your network and reinstalling any necessary drivers on your computer.

Updating Printer Firmware

Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date to avoid any software-related issues. You can check for firmware updates through the HP website or the HP Smart app.

Reinstalling Printer Drivers

Uninstall Old Drivers:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and select Remove device.

Download and Install New Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model (OfficeJet Pro 8630).
  • Download the latest drivers and software for your printer.
  • Install the drivers and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Additional Tips

  • Ensure your computer and printer are connected to the same network.
  • If you have a dual-band router, make sure both devices are on the same frequency band (either 2.4GHz or 5GHz).
  • Restart your router and modem if the printer still has connectivity issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to reconnect your HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 to your new network and resolve the administrator lockout issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
